The Who-ville fable, with primary visual effects by Digital Domain, grabbed $13.81 million, elevating its cume to an astounding $213.6 million. Disney's new animated feature THE EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE made a lackluster debut in fourth grossing $9.81 million. The screwball buddy film could see increased dollars over the upcoming holiday vacation, helped by good reviews across the board. Plummeting from second to fifth, VERTICAL LIMIT dug up another $9.1 million. The avalanche adventure, with primary visual effects by Centropolis Effects, has rescued $28.81 million thus far. PROOF OF LIFE sunk to sixth, with a gross of $5.38 million. The kidnap caper, with primary visual effects by Cinesite, has secured $18.77 million to date. UNBREAKABLE placed seventh, grossing an additional $3.73 million. The superhero saga, with primary visual effects by The Secret Lab and TSL, has slugged in $83.12 million so far. Spotted in eighth place, 102 DALMATIANS drummed up $2.66 million. The animal exploits, with primary visual effects by The Secret Lab, has impounded $48 million to date. DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS took the ninth slot with a gross of $2.44 million. The feeble fantasy, with primary visual effects by SXS, VisionArt and Flat Earth Productions, has scrounged up $11.15 million. Closing out the top ten, RUGRATS IN PARIS waddled in with an additional $1.84 million. The mommy-finding mayhem, with animation by Klasky Csupo, has penned in $62.97 million. Slipping out of the top ten into 12th place, CHARLIE'S ANGELS claimed another $1.1 million. The high-kicking action flick, with primary visual effects by Flash Film Works, has seduced $121.1 million so far. Doubling its engagements to 31, CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON danced on treetops to the tune of $1.08 million in 13th place. The kung fu fantasy, with primary visual effects by Centropolis Effects, has levitated $2.15 million in 10-days. At #18, THE 6TH DAY scrounged up $372,114. The cloning caper, with primary visual effects by Rhythm & Hues and Cinesite, has accumulated only $33.81 million. Other animated and special effects laden films finishing in the top fifty were: LITTLE NICKY at #21, with a gross of $176,015 and a cume of $38.54 million; CYBERWORLD 3D at #22, with a gross of $160,784 and a cume of $3.64 million; THE LEGEND OF BAGGER VANCE at #27, with a gross of $91,584 and a cume of $30.56 million; WHAT LIES BENEATH at #33, with a gross of $60,539 and a cume of $155.2 million; ALMOST FAMOUS at #36, with a gross of $49,345 and a cume of $31.93 million; THE EXORCIST at #42, with a gross of $33,605 and a cume of $39.63 million; RED PLANET at #43, with a gross of $33,252 and a cume of $17.13 million; FANTASIA/2000 at #44, with a gross of $33,053 and a cume of $60.31 million; and T-REX: BACK TO THE CRETACEOUS at #45, with a gross of $31,212 and a cume of $32.43 million.
