Henson Signs New Deals for ‘Dinosaur Train,’ ‘Pajanimals’ and ‘Sid the Science Kid’

The Jim Henson Company signs license agreements with media partners for preschool series ‘Dinosaur Train,’ ‘Sid the Science Kid’ and ‘Pajanimals.’

HOLLYWOOD -- The Jim Henson Company, a leader in family entertainment for 60 years and recognized worldwide as an innovator in puppetry, animatronics and digital animation, has finalized a number of new agreements for a trio of preschool series, the multiple Daytime Emmy Award-nominated series Dinosaur Train, Sid the Science Kid and Pajanimals. The announcement was made by Richard Goldsmith, Executive Vice President, Global Distribution for The Jim Henson Company.

The Jim Henson Company has secured multiple deals for Dinosaur Train in key territories, including Europe where Buena Vista has acquired seasons three and four of the series for Disney Channel in Germany; Watchever GmbH has licensed season two for Austria, Germany and Switzerland; France’s cable and satellite provider Multithematiques has acquired season three; and Greece’s ERT has acquired season one. In Canada, season three of Dinosaur Train has been licensed to TFO (French Canada); and seasons three and four to Knowledge Network (British Columbia). In the Middle East and Africa, Dinosaur Train seasons one and two have been acquired by SIC for Angola & Mozambique; and Emirates Cable TV & Multimedia has acquired season three and four, and renewed season one. In Brazil, Swen Entretenimientos has acquired season one. Earlier this year, ABC Australia commenced broadcast of season one of Dinosaur Train.

In Asia, Sid the Science Kid season one has been licensed to Singapore’s Mediacorp; and to Nagase Brothers Inc. in Japan for its Educational Network. Emirates Cable TV & Multimedia has acquired SVOD rights to season two of the series for the United Arab Emirates, while also renewing season one; and Greece’s ERT has also acquired season one. In Latin America, TV Film International Inc. has picked up rights to season one for Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.

Finland’s MTV Oy has acquired Pajanimals, which has also been acquired by Greece’s ERT; RTB Brunei; POD Worldwide for Thailand; Emirates Cable TV & Multimedia; and Swen Entretenimientos for Brazil.
