Hornet Films Opens Call for New Talent

NEW YORK -- Since its inception, Hornet Films has been home to artists and creators dedicated to the development of original, animated IP. With a mission to realize innovative endeavors by defining unique points of view, Hornet Films has written and produced animated content for some of the best media partners in the industry since it opened its doors in 2003. Now, for the first time, Hornet Films has announced their open call for new talent.

“We’re seeking out animated concepts for all ages, shorts and series, with a fresh take on storytelling and strong characters,” commented Hornet Films Executive Producer, Jan Wohrle Stebbins. “Pitches can be in the earlier stages of the process and don’t need to be fully fleshed out. We’ll consider loose concepts as long as the creator presents a compelling story.”

Stebbins has helped Hornet Films develop previous content for entities such as 20th Century Fox, Disney, Nickelodeon, Paramount and Cartoon Network, and continues to grow its presence at major industry markets and festivals, highlighting its short film offering that Sundance, SXSW and Vimeo have already recognized. This past year alone Hornet Films has been celebrated for its dynamic, mixed media work at award shows around the globe. Directors Dan & Jason’s children's short Bear and Bird has screened internationally at multiple animation festivals, taking home a win at the 2015 Ottawa International Animation Festival in the Kids category. Director and creator Gabe Askew’s cleverly animated comedy Trail Mix: The Buffalo Ball quickly went viral after it was released earlier this year, with its mobile game counterpoint Trail Mix: Turtle Hurdle due out early 2016.
