Hugh Grant and Sophia Lillis Join ‘Dungeons & Dragons’

‘Mickey Blue Eyes’ himself will portray big bad villain Forge Fletcher, while ‘It’ girl Lillis is set to play the mysterious Doric.

The Dungeons & Dragons casting announcements keep rolling in, each one better than the last. Hugh Grant (The Undoing, About a Boy) and Sophia Lillis (It, I Am Not Okay with This) are the newest names to join the impressive roster, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Grant is set to portray the big bad villain Forge Fletcher, while Lillis will work alongside Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, and Regé-Jean Page as Doric.

In announcing the casting of Rodriguez, THR shared that “The game is known for its war games, treasure hunts, camaraderie and reversals of fortune, all in a fantasy setting that combines humans, elves, orcs and hundreds of other creatures. The game famously uses multi-sided dice in gameplay and is overseen by a host known as the Dungeon Master. It is not known whether the story is a straight up fantasy or incorporates the storytelling and game-playing aspects.”

Despite the flurry of exciting casting reveals, the remaining character roles have been left hazy. Any further plot details are also being kept firmly under wraps. Dungeons & Dragons is set for a 2022 release.
