'The Incredible Hare' Gets Kickstarted

Kids' TV veteran Joes Strike, author of AWN's The Miscweant blog, launches a Kickstarter campaign for The Incredible Hare.

Reality TV, celebrity worship... and a six-foot tall talking rabbit. He's here, he's a hare - get used to him!

The story of Harold Hopper and his furry alter-ego Harry, The Incredible Hare is the brainchild of AWN’s very own Joe Strike, author of The Miscweant blog. A veteran of the kids’ TV industry, Strike has worked on shows such as Pee-wee’s Playhouse and The Great Space Coaster, and scripted the Nickelodeon series Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!

Inspired by The Incredible Hulk and the Joan Rivers film, Rabbit Test, The Incredible Hare was originally conceived as an old-school, Saturday morning-style kids TV show.

But in the face of overwhelming indifference from a myriad of television executives, Strike decided to go another route with the development of an eBook and print-on-demand paperback.

“An interesting thing happened as I began writing the book: Harold, Harry, Cindy… all my characters took on lives of their own, became actual people instead of caricatures,” says Strike.” They suddenly sported genuine personalities, detailed backstories and interior lives – none of which I’d originally intended.”

A funny, fast-paced read, Part 1 of The Incredible Hare is now available online at ihare.com, with a new chapter posted every few days.

Strike has launched a Kickstarter campaign in support of the project, but with only 10 days to go, the project is still in need of backers. If this is a project you know the world can’t live without, head over to the site and pledge your support.
