Int'l Animators To Judge Iranian Festival

Four animators and an Iranian animation expert were selected as the jury members for the International Section of the Fifth Tehran International Animation Festival, which will be held Feb. 25-March 1, 2007, reports the Mehr News Agency.

Olivier Catherin (from France), Nancy Mary (Canada), Otto Alder (Switzerland), Borivoj Dovnikovic (Croatia), and Abdollah Alimorad (Iran) were selected as jury members.

Catherin is the coordinator of the International Animation Day on behalf of the Association Internationale du Film d'Animation (ASIFA, International Animated Film Association), as well as a member of the Board of Directors of AFCA -- Association Française du Cinéma d'Animation.

Mary is the director of the marketing for the National Film Board of Canada in Europe and Africa.

Alder is co-founder of the Fantouche International Animation Film Festival and an advisor for several international events.

Dovnikovic is an official for the Zagreb World Festival of Animated Films. From 1994 to 2000, he served as ASIFA's secretary general.

Alimorad is the author of several books on animation and winners of many awards at prestigious international events.
