Universal has hired Keanu Reeves to star in its modern rendition of Robert Louis Stevenson's THE STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. REVOLUTIONARY ROAD scribe Justin Haythe is writing the script. Titled JEKYLL, the twist on the well-known plot is being kept on the low down. Nicolas Winding Refn, director of the Danish PUSHER series, is in talks to helm. Erwin Stoff and Red Wagon Ent.'s Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher are set to produce. How this project will affect Guillermo del Toro's development of a faithful adaptation of the novella is set to be seen. Peter Cramer and Erik Baiers will shepherd the project for Universal.
