Deadline.com reports that Kevin Costner is being considered for a role in Zack Snyder's SUPERMAN. THE TUTORS star Henry Cavill has been cast as Clark Kent/Superman. Alice Eve (SHE'S OUT OF MY LEAGUE), Diane Kruger (INGLOURIOUS BASTARDS) and Rosamund Pike (AN EDUCATION) are the lead contenders to take on the film's female lead.
Christopher Nolan, Charles Roven, Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder are producing. David S. Goyer penned the script from a story he developed with Nolan. Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips are exec producing.
Warner Bros. hopes to have the film in theaters by December 2012.
