Angela Lansbury has joined the cast of 20th Century Fox's MR. POPPER'S PENGUINS, reports Variety. Her co-stars include Jim Carrey, Carla Gugino, Ophelia Lovibond and Philip Baker Hall. The new take on the popular children's book sees Carrey as a busy businessman who becomes the owner of six penguins. Lansbury will play the owner of the tavern Mr. Popper wishes to purchase.
Mark Waters will direct with John Davis producing. Sean Anders, John Morris and Jared Stern penned the script based on Richard and Florence Atwater's book.
Fox will release the film on Aug 12.
