Marvel Studios Teams with Polygon Pictures on ‘Spider-Man: Freshman Year’

The animated series follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming Spider-Man in the MCU while celebrating the character’s early comic book roots, out on Disney+ in 2024.

Marvel Studios will collaborate with leading Japanese animation studio Polygon Pictures (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Transformers Prime) for the upcoming animated Disney+ series Spider-Man: Freshman Year.

Polygon Pictures recently took to social media to reveal the exciting team-up, stating in the attached release the series would utilize, “the latest CG technology.”

The animated series follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming Spider-Man in the MCU, with a journey unlike we've ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots. Executive producer Jeff Trammel also acts as head writer.

While not much else is known about the series, Ryan Meinerding, head of visual development at Marvel Studios, showed off the new Spider-Man suit design during the events of Comic-Con 2022. In addition, it was revealed that a second season of the new show is already in the works, aptly titled Spider-Man: Sophomore Year.

Spider-Man: Freshman Year swings onto Disney+ in 2024.
