‘Fast & Furious 9’ writer Daniel Casey will executive produce and pen the script for the first adaptation of the fan-favorite sci-fi video game.
Amazon MGM Studios has revealed that a Mass Effect series is (finally!) officially in development, Variety reports. Rumors of an adaptation have been swirling since 2021, when Henry Cavill posted a teaser of a secret project that fans immediately linked to the sci-fi video game franchise. It is not clear whether Cavill is still attached, or if it is even the same project.
Daniel Casey (F9: The Fast Saga, Daredevil) will executive produce as well as pen the script. Plot details have not been revealed, although the games follow the intergalactic adventures of Commander Shepard as he tries to save life as we know it from the genocidal Reapers.
Developed by BioWare, the first Mass Effect game launched in 2007 before being acquired by EA in 2008. The highly acclaimed game’s latest version, Mass Effect: Andromeda, was released in 2017. Another installment is currently in development.
Karim Zreik executive produces for Cedar Tree Productions, alongside Ari Arad and EA’s Michael Gamble.
