The series, which debuts its second season next month on NTV in Japan and on the ADN streaming platform, bolsters the distributor’s catalog of anime IP, including ‘Naruto,’ ‘Hunter X Hunter,’ and ‘Fairy Tail.’
Paris-based Mediatoon Distribution has secured worldwide rights for the upcoming sequel of the anime series Edens Zero (25x24') by Hiro Mashima (Fairy Tail). The series targets a young adult audience (13+) and tackles relevant subjects in modern society, such as the endangerment of the environment, our dependence on technology, and the relationship between humans and robots.
In the show, traveling through Sakura Cosmos, Shiki and his friends face numerous challenges when seeking to meet Mother, an entity that grants any wish to those brave enough to find her.
Edens Zero Season 2 will premiere on NTV in Japan on April 2 and simulcast on ADN (Animation Digital Network), the Paris-based SVOD platform. Commissioned by NTV and produced by J.C Staff, the new season features a digest episode of Season 1.
Jérôme Alby, CEO of Mediatoon Distribution, said, “We are glad to strengthen our long-lasting partnership with Kodansha. The acquisition of Edens Zero's worldwide rights cements Mediatoon’s position as one of the world’s leading distributors and IP managers for star kids and anime shows.”
The show joins Mediatoon’s catalog of Anime IPs such as Naruto, Hunter X Hunter, and Fairy Tail.
Mediatoon’s team will be at the upcoming MIPTV to present its current and future line-up.
