Walt Disney has added a new series, featuring Mickey Mouse and Disneys full roster of characters, entitled DISNEY'S HOUSE OF MOUSE to its 2001 ABC "Disneys One Saturday Morning" lineup. Roberts Gannaway and Tony Craig will executive produce DISNEY'S HOUSE OF MOUSE. The writer-animator team was responsible for returning Mickey Mouse to cartoon shorts with the 1999 premiere of DISNEYS MICKEY MOUSEWORKS, whose crew will mostly make up the talent on the new series. The new animated series has Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck running an entertainment nightclub featuring on-stage performances, cartoon shorts and backstage mayhem. In guest appearances, the series will mark role reprisals by original feature film voice actors include James Woods (Hades), Jason Alexander (Hugo), Robby Benson (Beast) and Jodi Benson (Ariel). "ABC is delighted to be the home of HOUSE OF MOUSE," Jonathan Barzilay, senior vice president and general manager, ABC Childrens Programming said. "This breakthrough series joins together Disney's most-loved animated characters in a single venue." Barry Blumberg, executive vice president, Walt Disney Television Animation, said, "This series extends the groundwork initiated by MICKEY MOUSEWORKS into new realms in terms of creative content, music and style that will have an even broader appeal to all generations." Executive VP, Walt Disney Television Animation David Stainton added, "Weve pulled together some of the most creative talent in the business to create a show that viewers will want to keep coming back to each and every week."
