MPC took honors at this year’s VES Awards for its contribution to Ang Lee’s critically acclaimed “Life of Pi,” winning Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects-Driven Motion Picture, Outstanding FX and Simulation Animation in a Feature Motion Picture, and Outstanding Compositing in a Feature Motion Picture.
MPC took honors at this year’s VES Awards for its contribution to Ang Lee’s critically acclaimed Life of Pi, winning Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects-Driven Motion Picture, the VES equivalent of Best Picture, as well as Outstanding FX and Simulation Animation in a Feature Motion Picture and Outstanding Compositing in a Feature Motion Picture, both awarded for the “Storm of God” sequence.
The team, lead by MPC Vancouver VFX Supervisor Guillaume Rocheron and VFX Producer Genevieve West, delivered more than 100 shots in stereo, creating the epic “Storm of God” and “Tsim Tsum Sinking” sequences and a number of CG animals.

In addition to the VES Award wins, MPC is proud to be nominated for two Academy Awards and two BAFTAs for the VFX for Life of Pi and Prometheus.
The BAFTA ceremony takes place on February 10, 2013, and the Academy Awards take place on February 24, 2013.
