Author of New York Times best-selling graphic novel on which Netflix’s new 3DCG adventure is based will head to Turin along with Nick Bruno and Troy Quane to present their film in-person; the conference takes place October 15-20.
The VIEW Conference, Italy’s premier international event on Computer Graphics, Interactive Techniques, Digital Cinema, 2D/3D Animation, VR and AR, Gaming, and VFX, has announced New York Times best-selling graphic novelist ND Stevenson will join Nimona directors Nick Bruno and Troy Quane in-person at this year’s conference. The trio will present their 3DCG adventure, which is based on Stevenson's hugely popular work.
VIEW 2023, an English-speaking event, takes place October 15-20, 2023, in the beautiful baroque city of Turin, Italy. Tickets are now available from the official VIEW Conference website.

Stevenson is the award-winning, bestselling author and illustrator of “Nimona,” as well as a co-producer of the Netflix film adaptation. He is also the author and illustrator of “The Fire Never Goes Out,” the co-creator of “Lumberjanes,” and was the showrunner for the award-winning Netflix series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. He currently lives in Los Angeles.
Formerly with Blue Sky Studios, Bruno is an American film director and animator. Nimona is Bruno’s second feature directorial role. Quane is a Canadian film director and 27-year veteran of the animation industry. Following his feature film directing debut, Spies in Disguise (2019), Nimona marks his second feature directorial role.
In 2005, Bruno joined Blue Sky Studios as a junior animator on the feature film Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006). Most recently, Bruno directed Spies in Disguise and published his own graphic novel “Urban Legendz.” Additional animation credits include The Peanuts Movie (2015); Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who (2008); Ice Age: Dawn of The Dinosaurs (2009); Rio (2011); Epic (2013); Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012); Ice Age: Collision Course (2016); and two short films Surviving Sid (2008) and the Oscar-nominated, No Time for Nuts (2006).
A 27-year animation industry veteran Quane began his career as a traditional animator for Walt Disney Animation Canada. Through 2005 he worked as a senior animator on various commercials and feature films until joining the live-action Disney film Enchanted as storyboard supervisor. He continued in the story department with various studios, which led him to direct the 22-minute SONY Pictures’ short film The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol (2011). Quane’s additional credits include Fox Feature Animation’s Titan A.E. (2000); Warner Bros. Feature Animation’s Osmosis Jones (2001); Universal’s Curious George (2006); Focus Features’ 9 (2009); Aardman Animation’s Arthur Christmas (2011); SONY Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania (2012); and Blue Sky Studios feature films The Peanuts Movie (2015), Ice Age: Collision Course (2016) and the Academy Award-nominated film Ferdinand (2017).
Nimona was brought to the screen by Annapurna and DNEG Animation, and is now streaming on Netflix.
