Netflix has shared a clip and set of images from its upcoming animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, which launches tomorrow, October 10. The show picks up after the events of the Tomb Raider video game Survivor trilogy (Tomb Raider; Rise of the Tomb Raider; Shadow of the Tomb Raider) and charts the globetrotting heroine’s next chapter.
In the series, Lara Croft has abandoned her friends to embark on increasingly more perilous solo adventures. When a thief with an uncanny personal connection steals dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact the heroine must return home. Her daring pursuit will take her on an adventure around the world and to the depths of forgotten tombs, where she must confront her true self and decide just what kind of hero she wants to become.
Starring Hayley Atwell (Captain America, Mission Impossible 7) as the voice of Ms. Croft, the project also stars Allen Maldonado (Heels, The Wonder Years) as tech expert and colleague Zip, and Earl Baylon, who reprises his role from the video game as the voice of Lara’s friend and voice of reason, Jonah Maiava.
Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin, Red Sonja) serves as executive producer and writer. dj2 Entertainment founder and CEO Dmitri M. Johnson (Sonic the Hedgehog, Life is Strange) serves as executive producer alongside Timothy I. Stevenson; Tractor Pants’ Jacob Robinson (Skull Island); Dallas Dickinson and Noah Hughes for Crystal Dynamics; and Howard Bliss and Jen Chambers.
