New ‘The Boys’ Spin-Off Series May be in Development

Set in Mexico City, the rumored Spanish language project could be the third live-action series in the universe, following the recent release of ‘Gen V;’ sources say ‘Blue Beetle’ penner Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer is attached to write.

The Boys are back in town! The outrageously dark world of misbehaving superheroes, including the recently released spin-off series Gen V, may soon expand into Mexico, according to Variety.

Sources whisper that Amazon is already busy developing a Spanish-language spin-off series set in Mexico City. The project would be produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, with Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Blue Beetle) attached to write.

Assuming the rumors are true, The Boys creator Erik Kripke would executive produce under his Kripke Enterprises banner, alongside Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver of Point Grey Pictures, and Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty of Original Film. Variety sources also say Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal would executive produce under their La Corriente del Golfo banner.

The Boys Season Four will air in 2024. Gen V streams now on Prime Video.
