New Zealand actors Taika Waititi and Temuera Morrison (STAR WARS prequels) have joined the cast of GREEN LANTERN, reports HEAT VISION. Waititi will play Hal Jordan's best friend. Morrison plays Green Lantern Corp. member Abin Sur.
Ryan Reynolds is starring as Jordan, a test pilot who is bequeathed a Green Lantern Corp. ring making him a member of intergalactic police corp. Martin Campbell is directing. Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti are the producers.
Filming starts this week in New Orleans. Warner Bros. will release the film on June 17, 2011.
