The studios’ Comic-Con panel shared a new teaser, behind-the-scenes art -- and news of 13 additional second season episodes plus a Season 3 renewal.
Moderated by Comicbook.com executive editor Jim Viscardi, the panel also included news that 13 additional episodes are planned for Season 2 of Rugrats - as well as the pickup of a 13-episode third season. Season 2 will premiere on Paramount+ in 2023.
Rounding out the panel were the voice actors behind the babies - EG Daily (Tommy), Cheryl Chase (Angelica), and Charlet Chung (Kimi) - and executive producer Eryk Casemiro. Together, they discussed rebooting the show for a modern audience and shared an exclusive look at behind-the-scenes art from Season 2.
Season 2 of Rugrats sees Tommy, Chuckie, Angelica, Susie, Phil, and Lil traverse frozen tundra, discover treasures once possessed by “ancient babies,” and voyage to the dark side of the moon. The plucky protagonists also find time for more friends -- like Kimi and her mom Kira, Begley, Boris and Minka, Gabi, and Tia Esperanza.
Produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio, the series reimagines the classic ‘90s hit; it features rich and colorful CG-animation and follows the babies—Tommy, Chuckie, Angelica, Susie, and Phil and Lil—as they explore the world and beyond from their pint-sized and wildly imaginative point-of-view.
