Laurent Taieb has been promoted to VP, Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP), France as part of the company's strategic commitment to expand and further deepen its licensing and merchandising operations in the market. Taieb has managed NVCP's strategy in France since January 2006, including the direct oversight of DORA THE EXPLORER, which under his leadership became the fastest-growing toy license ever for Fisher Price and has spent the last 22 consecutive months as the territory's number-one licensed property. In addition to the success of DORA THE EXPLORER, Taieb is also credited with the strong positioning of NVCP's latest property roll-outs, including GO DIEGO GO!, which is set to launch in magazine format before the end of this year, as well as close partnerships with TV Mania and Canal Toys.
As VP, Taieb will continue to extend NVCP and MTV Networks France's portfolio of popular brands, managing all local consumer products activities, including tentpole events, development and coordination of the organization's retail presence, plus management of day-to-day relationships with agents such as TF1 Licenses (SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS) and CPLG (other properties). Working closely with MTVN France, Taieb will continue to bolster the company's profile, grow sales and leverage relationships with major partners, including toy, home video, videogame and promotions partners, in conjunction with category heads in London.
Prior to joining MTVNF, Taieb was the Licensing Director at MPG Partenariat. Until October 2005, Taieb was Licensing Manager at Copyright Promotions Licensing Group where he worked across all licenses, was responsible for the promotion and advertising of all categories including toys, food, multimedia and new technologies, as well as drafting and implementing strategic plans and partnerships with trade-marketing operations and retailers. A native of France with 20 years experience in the license and merchandise field, Taieb holds a BTS of Communication from EPPREP in Paris and the French Baccalaureat.
