Passion Pictures has finalized a deal with Hachette Children’s Group to adapt multiple stories from Rachel Bright children’s books into an animated series of half-hour long specials, including The Lion Inside, The Koala Who Could and The Squirrels Who Squabbled, illustrated by Jim Field, according to Deadline.
Debbie Crosscup, executive producer at Passion Pictures, said, “We are absolutely delighted to be bringing Rachel Bright and Jim Field’s beautiful books to the screen. Their stories are filled with warmth, humour, and valuable lessons about friendship, courage, and self-discovery. We believe they have the potential to resonate deeply with audiences of all ages on a global scale.”
The series of educational books featuring animals has sold over 5 million copies worldwide. A network is not currently attached to the project.
