The top players behind the new Muppets movie have gone to Pixar for some creative consulting, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. John Lasseter, Brad Bird, Pete Docter, Andrew Stanton, Michael Arndt, Bob Peterson and Ed Catmull were among the Pixar team who were involved with the table reading of the live-action feature, which will star and was written by Jason Segel. Muppets director James Bobin and producers David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman and Segel were present.

This is the second live-action feature that Pixar was called on to give story advice. The animation firm consulted on re-shoots for TRON LEGACY.

Pixar own filmmakers have been branching out into live-action as well with Bird directing MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE IV and 1906 and Stanton directing JOHN CARTER OF MARS.
