Directed by BAFTA laureate Claire Norowzian, the live-action/animated commercial ‘There's a Collection in Everyone’ reignites the thrill of collecting for a new audience of international kids.
Platige Image has shared with AWN and VFXWorld their collaboration with the iconic Pokémon to remind everyone of the thrill of collecting and trading cards, with There's a Collection in Everyone live-action/animated spot. Special effects crafted by the studio infused the visuals with an enchanting aura of pure magic.
Almost 30 years ago, Pokémon came on the scene, soon becoming a global cultural phenomenon. The cards, conceived by entomology enthusiast Satoshi Tajiri, merged his passion for insects into a venture in gaming. The trading cards are now back with fresh and captivating facades.
The studio orchestrated the shooting set for seamless CG integration, crafting special effects and preparing broadcast-ready files for television stations across the nine European nations set to air the commercial. Two-time BAFTA laureate Claire Norowzian directed the project.
Platige Image’s team, comprised of producer Sonia Marcinkowska, VFX supervisor Maciej Szewczenko, head of production Agnieszka Górna, and head of CG Marek Gajowski, was challenged with bringing the essence and charm of the classic Pokémon universe to a new international target audience of children. The team’s graphics seamlessly merged the magic of traditional hand-drawn animation with cutting-edge 3DCG animation.
Commenting on the result, Szewczenko noted, “The outcome was nothing short of awe-inspiring.”
