Season 2 of ‘Rookie Robot Explores the World’ Coming in June

The non-dialogue pre-school series follows the curious robot Rookie as he goes on adventures that highlight patience, perseverance, and curiosity.

A new season of Rookie Robot Explores the World, a non-dialogue series for preschoolers, is in production, with the first 13 episodes scheduled for delivery in June 2023 and the next 13 in December 2023. Meta Media Entertainment has recently taken over worldwide distribution and has licensed Season 1 to NRK Norway; ERR Estonia; Filmin Spain; and Filmin Portugal. This follows previous sales to Daekyo Kids TV; Daekyo Baby TV; ORF Austria/Flimmit; and Canadian Knowledge Network.

Rookie Robot, created and produced in Vienna by Sine Lege Film in cooperation with Leiss Postproduction, follows the adventures of a curious and friendly little bot named Rookie as he explores the world, meets new friends, and goes on exciting adventures.

From helping a hoarse lion find his roar to learning to jump into the sea under instructions from a lifeguard turtle or keeping the environment clean by collecting plastic bags, the simple and charming stories entertain with a cast of characters all based on original children’s line drawings.

The series aims to encourage curiosity and highlights important values like patience, perseverance, and respect for all individuals as well as for our planet. Rookie's encounters focus on openness and empathy, and with each episode, he learns a little more about the world around him, inspiring young viewers to do the same.

Josef Pallwein-Prettner, Producer at Sine Lege Film, said, “The aim of the show is to encourage our little ones to be (and stay) curious, creative and social. By using original kids’ drawings, we ‘speak their universal language’ and emphasise that we can all learn from each other.”

“Rookie is one of a kind: Its simple, coloured in, illustration-based cartoon style with a tick of retro touch is different from most programmes on the market,” said Christian Leiss of Leiss Animation & Postproduction.

Sara Cooper, Founder at Meta Media Entertainment, stated, “I am so delighted that Rookie Robot is in production for a 2nd season and that kids around the world will be able to enjoy even more fun adventures with this cheeky little robot.”
