Silvergate’s 'Octonauts' Land New Deals

Silvergate Media announces new international sales for the undersea preschool series Octonauts.

London, UK -- Silvergate Media has announced a raft of new international sales for its hit undersea preschool adventure property, Octonauts.

Seasons 2 & 3 of the popular show have been acquired by Disney (Japan), RTE (Ireland), Super RTL (Germany), Treehouse (Canada) and YLE (Finland) in addition to the existing broadcast deals for these seasons with CBeebies (UK), the Disney Junior block on Disney Channel (USA) and ABC (Australia).

New deals have also been concluded for season 1 of Octonauts in Hungary, South Korea, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia, Macedonia and Kosovo.

Mary Durkan, CEO of Silvergate Media said, “The rich and colourful world of Octonauts has broad international appeal, as do the positive messages that the show delivers about caring for our marine environment.  These new deals show an ongoing commitment from some of the world’s leading children’s broadcasters to bring Octonauts stories to their audiences and we are proud and privileged to work with them.”

Octonauts follows the adventures of a dynamic eight-member team of quirky and courageous adventure heroes who dive into action whenever there is trouble under the sea, exploring incredible underwater worlds and helping a vast array of amazing sea creatures.

Since launching on CBeebies in 2010, Silvergate Media’s 92 x 11’ animated series, with 6 x 22’ specials, has been equally well received globally. The first two seasons are currently broadcasting on CBeebies in the UK, the Disney Junior block on Disney Channel in the US and ABC Australia with season 3 debuting in 2014. These strong partnerships have served to bolster the momentum of the property’s success and Octonauts can now be seen in over 100 territories worldwide.
