As part of its international expansion, Bigpoint.com, a provider of browser-based online games and one of the top gaming portals, is expanding its management team. In Simon Guild, the Hamburg-based company has hired someone with wide international experience in the media industry.
Until 2006, Guild was president and CEO of MTV Networks Europe and responsible for the European expansion of the company's range of brands including MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central. Guild will become chairman of the board of Bigpoint and advise the game developer and publisher on its international expansion.
Other board members include the founder and CEO, Heiko Hubertz, as well as representatives from GMT Communications Partners and GE/NBC Universal.'s Peacock Equity Fund.
