The film follows a safecracker who gets reincarnated as a fly. As an insect, he tries to lead a better life in order to work his way up the animal ranks in order to become human again and win back his human love.
Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio, screenwriters of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, are the producers.
Prior to New Line, the film was in development at Universal and Imagine Ent. and before that DreamWorks. At New Line, the project at one point had Dwayne Johnson, Pierce Brosnan, Mira Sorvino, Eartha Kitt and Gene Wilder lined up.
