Todd Miller, has been promoted from md of AXN Asia, to svp of International Networks, Asia, Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI).
He reports to Andy Kaplan, sevp of SPTI, who said, "This promotion is in recognition of what Todd has accomplished with AXN Asia over the last three years. Since taking charge of AXN, Todd has taken AXN to new heights and spearheaded its growth throughout the region. Under his leadership, AXN has experienced all-time peaks in viewership, distribution and ad sales. Todd is a smart and savvy executive who will lead our networks to further expansion."
Miller will continue to oversee all operations and day-to-day activities of AXN Asia and will explore new business opportunities for Sony's international networks division in Asia. Miller will continue to be based in Singapore, and work closely with Dewy Ip, svp/md, Asia.
Miller has served as md at AXN, the first 24-hour cable and satellite TV channel in Asia exclusively dedicated to action and adventure programming since June 2000. He has been responsible for guiding the network's expansion and development in Asia, overseeing AXN's three satellite services AXN South Asia, AXN Taiwan and AXN East Asia. AXN has expanded its distribution reach more than 70 millioßn households across 18 countries.
Miller joined Columbia TriStar International Television (CTIT) in 1995 as vp of sales in Hong Kong where he doubled the market share and client base, while growing the Columbia TriStar Asian business by 300% before taking the helm of AXN Asia. Prior to CTIT, he was a senior sales executive at Star TV, where he generated significant advertising revenue for India. He also worked at CNN International and SOJOURN magazine.
For the first six months of 2003, AXN Asia was the most watched international ad-supported channel in Singapore, Taiwan and the Philippines on a sustained basis.
