After facing numerous delays due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, work resumes in the new year; the series' final season will now premiere sometime in 2025.

Once more into the fray. Production on the fifth and final season of the hit Netflix horror series Stranger Things is set to begin in January, Variety announced. Production was previously delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
Speaking with The Guardian, series creators Matt and Ross Duffer recently teased the final season, stating, “This season – it’s like season one on steroids. It’s the biggest it’s ever been in terms of scale, but it has been really fun, because everyone’s back together in Hawkins: the boys and Eleven interacting more in line with how it was in season one. And, yes, there may be spin-offs, but the story of Eleven and Dustin and Lucas and Hopper, their stories are done here.”
Linda Hamilton (Terminator) will join the core cast in the upcoming season, which includes Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Charlie Heaton, Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, and Brett Gelman.
While the main series may be ending, fans can still look forward to the live stage play, which premiered at London’s Phoenix Theatre November 17, an untitled animated series, and maybe even an anime series.
The Duffer Brothers act as showrunners, creators, and executive producers on the series. Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Iain Patterson also executive produce.
All four seasons of Stranger Things stream now exclusively on Netflix. Season 5 is set to stream sometime in 2025.
