ToonSeum Celebrates 70 Years of Little Golden Books

The ToonSeum celebrates 70 years of Little Golden Books with a special read along party and an exhibit giving a rare glimpse at the original artwork behind these childhood classics.

The ToonSeum, Pittsburgh’s Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art, is celebrating 7 decades of Little Golden Books with a special read along party!

Join The ToonSeum on Saturday May 17th from 4pm-7pm as they celebrate a seven-decade long legacy of childhood memories through the iconic Little Golden Books.

Guests will have the opportunity to gain a rare glimpse of original art from many of your childhood favorites, including Pokey Little Puppy, The Tawny Lion, Tootle, The Little Red Hen and many more.

There will be special story times with local celebrities including WTAE TV’s Sally Wiggin and everyone’s favorite neighbor, Mr. McFeely!  The event also features hands-on crafts, live performances, artist demonstrations, treats and more.  Each family will receive a very special Golden Book along with other surprises!

The Little Golden Books exhibition is chaired by Gregg and Yu-Ling Behr and made possible through the generous support of the Grable Foundation.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this special event which brings back wonderful childhood memories.  We can’t wait to bring our daughters and read our favorite books.” – Yu-Ling & Gregg Behr

The Little Golden Books exhibit will be at the ToonSeum until July 5th 2014.
