Two More Features Added to Annecy 2019 Competition

Festival director Marcel Jean’s announcement brings final number of competing feature films to 10.

Marcel Jean has just announced that two additional feature films have been added to the official selection at the upcoming 2019 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, bringing the full competitive lineup to 10. Earlier this month, the festival released the names of eight films in the feature film competition as well as eight additional films screening out of competition (Contrachemp). 

The two new films are:

I Lost My Body

Jérémy Clapin (France)

In Paris a young man’s cut-off hand escapes from a dissection lab with one crucial goal: to return to its body. As it scrambles through the perilous streets of Paris, it remembers its life with the young man it was once attached to, up until he met Gabrielle.

The Swallows of Kabul

Zabou Breitman & Eléa Gobbé-Mévellec (France, Luxembourg, Switzerland)

'The Swallows of Kabul,' directed by Zabou Breitman & Eléa Gobbé-Mévellec.

Summer 1998 - Kabul under Taliban rule. Zunaira and Mohsen are young and in love. Despite the daily violence and misery, they hope for a better future. One day, a foolish gesture causes life to take an irrevocable turn.
