VIEW Conference to Spotlight ‘The Breadwinner’

The technical director of the upcoming Cartoon Saloon feature will shine a light on the making of the highly anticipated film.

Cartoon Saloon's 'The Breadwinner' will be released Nov. 17 in U.S. theaters.

LOS ANGELES and TURIN, ITALY -- VIEW Conference 2017 has scheduled the first-ever presentation of ‘The Making of The Breadwinner,’ a showcase of the highly-anticipated animated feature, The Breadwinner.

A blend of computer and hand-drawn animation, the film is the work of more than a hundred artists across three countries and is based on Deborah Ellis’ acclaimed novel. Directed by Nora Twomey (The Secret of Kells), The Breadwinner tells the story of an 11-year-old Afghan girl who disguises herself as a boy to provide for her family. The Breadwinner is due in theaters Nov. 17.

The first-ever presentation of ‘The Making of The Breadwinner’ is presented by the film’s award-winning technical director, Mark Mullery. He will present a look behind the scenes of the movie, which combines 21st century technology and age-old hand-drawn techniques.

Mullery is studio technical director for Cartoon Saloon.  He also serves as assistant director on the studio’s upcoming feature Wolfwalkers.

The 18th annual VIEW Conference is scheduled for Oct. 23-27 in Turin, Italy.
