Employing a team of dozens of animators and illustrators and over a thousand original drawings, Oscar-nominated animator PES delivers new stop-motion commercial, ‘Paper,’ for Honda.
Oscar-nominated stop-motion animator PES has come out with a new commercial, “Paper,” created for Honda via agency RPA and production company RESET. Rock Paper Scissors handled editorial, and VFX and finishing were completed by A52.
Since his Roof Sex hit the web in 2002, PES has produced a steady stream of unique, innovative and hilarious stop-motion shorts, culminating in his 2013 short, Fresh Guacamole, which was nominated for the Oscar for Best Animated Short, and its 2014 follow-up, Submarine Sandwich.
“Paper” took four months to complete, employing a team of dozens of animators and illustrators and over a thousand original drawings. Like the filmmaker’s previous work, everything in the film is done by hand and shot in-camera.
