Indie animation icon Bill Plympton has released a trailer for his newest short film, Footprints, which has been shortlisted for this year’s Oscar race. Check it out, below:

A two-time Oscar nominee, Plympton is an animator, cartoonist, director, screenwriter and producer best known for his 1987 Academy Award-nominated short Your Face and his 2005 short Guard Dog.

Footprints, which had its premiere at the HollyShorts Film Festival in July, features music by Corey Allen Jackson. The four-minute short ran ahead of Plympton’s latest feature, the Kickstarter-backed Cheatin’. An adult tale of love and jealousy, the hand-drawn Cheatin’ is comprised of more than 40,000 frames.

Plympton’s films were acquired for distribution earlier this year for global distribution on all ShortsTV and ShortsHD platforms.
