Jeff Kinney, the author of the wildly popular DIARY OF A WIMPY KID illustrated book series, has filed suit against Antarctic Press, the publishers of DIARY OF A ZOMBIE KID, reports the Boston Herald. Kinney and his Wimpy Kid Inc. claim the "spoofs" violate his copyright, because they so closely resemble his work that consumers could confuse the ZOMBIE KID series to be an extension of WIMPY KID franchise. Besides the visual similarities, Kinney argues that the ZOMBIE protagonist is also identical to his hero Greg Heffley only in an undead form.
