Rainbow property to start screening across Russia beginning in February thanks to a new deal with Karusel.
LORETO, ITALY – Rainbow has reached an agreement with Karusel to release Series 7 of Winx Club to screen across Russia beginning this month. The series follows the adventures of a group of young fairies and combines action and adventure with comedy.
Series 7 carries a strong environmental message, as the fairies discover the real importance of the rare Fairy Animals, which they must save from Kalshara, an evil shape-shifter and her clumsy brother, Brafilius. The theme of endangered animals recurs throughout the series as the Winx establish an Animal Rescue Park on Earth, where they look after vulnerable animals such as pandas and tigers.
Karusel is available across all of Russia, and many other countries. It is devoted solely to kids and teens. In terms of audience size, it is the biggest TV channel in the country.
“We are proud that Rainbow has selected Karusel as its main media partner in Russia,” says Tatyana Tsivareva, Karusel CEO. “The Winx Club fairies are popular all over the world and we are confident that our viewers will be excited to watch these episodes and follow the adventures of the Winx.”
Adds Iginio Straffi, President and CEO of Rainbow, “We are delighted to be announcing this new partnership, which will allow us to be more focused on a children’s audience in Russia. It’s a privilege to be partnered with Karusel and we are all looking forward to bringing the adventures of the Winx Club fairies to Russian children.”
