Autodesk Integrates AJA for Video I/O Solutions

AJA Video, a leading manufacturer of professional video interface and conversion solutions, has entered into an agreement with Autodesk. AJA's award-winning video technologies have been integrated as part of Autodesk's advanced visual effects and editing and finishing solutions, allowing the systems to tap AJA technology for input and output of SD, HD and 2K files. AJA OEM solutions are now used across the Autodesk Inferno, Autodesk Flame and Autodesk Flint visual effects systems, as well as the Autodesk Fire and Autodesk Smoke editing and finishing systems.

Autodesk at IBC 2006

Autodesk is participating in the 2006 International Broadcasters Convention (IBC) being held in Amsterdam from Sept. 8-12. Autodesk Area Portal Goes Live

Autodesk Media & Ent.s new community portal, Area (www.the-area.com), is now live. The site is intended to be a centralized repository of content created using Autodesk Maya and Autodesk 3ds Max animation, modeling and rendering software; Autodesk MotionBuilder character animation software; or Autodesk VIZ 3D modeling, rendering and presentation software. To foster collaboration and networking within the industry, content on the Area is intended to be generated by the community, and supported by Autodesk.

Autodesk Introduces Lustre 2007

Autodesk Inc. has launched the Autodesk Lustre 2007 digital color grading solution. Lustre has shaped hundreds of films, including KING KONG, CLERKS II and the upcoming films MACBETH and THE BLACK DAHLIA. There is also growing demand for specialized digital grading tools such as Lustre in the TV industry and for films shot in high definition (HD). With Lustre, colorists can deliver stylized looks, maintain continuity across shots and change the time of day during which a story takes place.

Autodesk to Launch ‘The Area’ Community Portal

Autodesks Media & Ent. division will launch a new community portal on Aug. 22 called The Area (www.the-area.com), which will enable artists to network with peers and enjoy a repository of Autodesk 3D content. Content will be posted by community members and Autodesk.

Initially, the site will focus on content created using Maya, Autodesk 3ds Max, Autodesk Motion Builder or VIZ used in games, film, post-production or design visualization. Membership is free.

Autodesk Gets Support from HP & Intel

From its SIGGRAPH booth #1706, Autodesk Inc. announced that plug-ins are available for use with the new 64-bit versions of Autodesk 3ds Max and Autodesk Maya animation, modeling and rendering software, thanks to a partnership with HP and Intel. Plug-ins for these new Autodesk 3D software versions were created by members of the Autodesk Developer Network (ADN) Sparks program.
