Two New For Toonz Animation India

Roger Dondis and Nelson Uduando have joined Toonz Animation India, as creative director and head of animation respectively. Roger Dondis joins Toonz Animation India from Wild Brain Studios where he worked as animation director and overseas supervisor on feature film productions. Roger has been director, animation director, designer and animator on many commercials and several long format projects. He begins with Toonz Animation India on January 1, 2002. Nelson P. Udaundo joins Toonz Animation India as head of the animation department.

Christine Joins Toonz Animation India As Studio Manager

Toonz Animation India has announced that Tiersa Christine has joined the company as studio manager. Previously, Christine served as manager of operations for Disney I.d.e.a.s. where she was responsible for day-to-day operations for the full service post-production facility based in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. President and CEO Bill Dennis said, "I've known Tiersa pre-dating my days at Disney and Ive kept an eye on her progress. I feel shell bring a tremendous wealth of experience to the studio in India and I know that this is a good match for both studio and her.

ASIFA Opens First Chapter In India

ASIFA, the only internationally sanctioned organization for animation, will open a chapter in India. This new chapter will be located in the city of Trivandrum within the Indian state of Kerala, home of Toonz Animation India. The first meeting of ASIFA India will occur during The 2nd Annual Week With The Masters Animation Celebration, from October 30 - November 3, 2000. Bill Dennis, president and CEO of Toonz Animation India, will head the new chapter. Dennis has worked on animated classics such as THE LION KING, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, ALADDIN and THE LITTLE MERMAID.

Derek Lamb & Jeffrey Hale Team On New Short

Award winning filmmakers, Derek Lamb & Jeffrey Hale are teaming up with Toonz Animation India to produce THE LAST BRITISH COLONEL IN INDIA, a short animated comedy film. The flick is based on an original song by Derek Lamb and satirizes the British Empire days in India, bringing to light for the first time the real reason why the British quit India in 1947. "This entire project began to percolate at last years Week with the Masters hosted by Toonz Animation in India. Both Derek and Jeffrey thought it was time to tell this previously unknown story.

India Reincarnates Dead Stars

In Chennai, India, Penta Media, 3D Max Media and Hewlett Packard have announced plans to produce a film, STARWAY, which will star two deceased Indian actors, brought back to life through CGI. The TIMES OF INDIA reported that no decision has been made on which stars would be reincarnated as themselves. In regards to ethical concerns, the newspaper published a comment from S.
