LAIKA chief Travis Knight discusses his directorial debut, ‘Kubo and the Two Strings,’ and his passion for stop-motion animation as a storytelling medium and art form.
Knight is the CEO of LAIKA, the company behind the stop-motion animated films Coraline, ParaNorman, and The Boxtrolls. All three of LAIKA’s previous films have been nominated for the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, and Kubo and the Strings, which stars Oscar winners Charlize Theron and Matthew McConaughey, marks Knight’s directorial debut.
