I am a young animator with no expirience in Flash animation ( I don't even have the program) and am wondering if it is possible to get a Flash animation into Quicktime format via exporting from the Flash program?.I was just wondering because I am considering doing a project in all Flash and am thinking of having people to do the animation for me (for free of couse since I have no money at the moment) and they could send the animation over in Quicktime format so I can check it and edit the final scenes. If it is possible please tell me. I may not be able to reply for a while because I may lose my electricity during Hurricane Jeane since I am right in the path of it (CURSE YOU JEANE!! WHY DID YOU NOT TURN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE?) and live in Florida.
Yessum, Flash can export to the Quicktime format. Snoogans
cool
Thatk you :) That's all I wanted to know.
While Flash does have an option to export a movie as Quicktime, it is not a true Quicktime movie.
Here's the deal (as I understand it):
Quicktime has built in support for Flash, which basically means a Flash movie can be embedded within a Quicktime file, but not converted into one. Because of this it still suffers from the same playback issues that any .SWF file would (choppy, crappy playback when there's too much animation or the movie's resolution is too big.)
To turn a Flash animation into a TRUE Quicktime file, first you must export it from Flash as a .MOV file. Then open that file with Quicktime Pro and export it again (can't remember the settings off the top of my head.)
I have only used Quicktime in Flash through Flash MX, so I don't know if it works this way in Flash MX 2004 as well. My assumption would be it's the same. However, Macromedia is planning on adding true Quicktime support in an upcoming release of Flash

Thank you :) I keep looking for updates on this.
THAT'S WHY!!!
Stupid, stupid, stupid FLASH! ARRRRGGGHHH!
It always drove my nuts whenever I tried to export in Quicktime and it would echo or double up the sound.
It's always nice to run into the info you were looking for, without actually having to look for it if you comprehend my gist.

Does Flash have a good editing system? Can you add titles and fades outs ect.?
If it does that would solve my editing problem. I could just get the student version and edit it all.
Oh for sure...
You can fade in, fade out, slow in slow out, and you can do it all on multiple levels. There are many tools for the trade. It also tweens for you if you're doing 2 dimensional animation, There are many tricks to get different effects with the tweening tool, although you're better off doing any kind of 3 dimensional rotation or characters by hand.
You can also do a fair little bit with sound as well. There's alot to experiment with.
