I am considering studying to become a computer animator and was just wondering if anyone knew the work hours per week of a typical computer animator working at pixar, disney, EA, or any other place. Do animators usually get weekends off?
A friend of mine once put it this way: Animators only work half days. Just pick any 12 hours and you're done.
For the studios during the lighter end of production, it's probably anywhere from an 8-12 hour day. During crunch time, you're pretty much sleeping at the office. I've worked as much as 50 hours STRAIGHT trying to get a TV show delivered on time.
i have had people sleeping in my studio when the deadline is tough....don't become an animator if u want comfortale working hours .....if u love it get in :D
my guys put in 48-54 hours a week when working comfortably. it could go up to 60 hours 7 days if deadlines were tight.
