Autodesk Sponsors Rendering Revolution Contest on CGarchitect.com

Sponsored by Autodesk®, CGarchitect, and NVIDIA, the Rendering Revolution contest is a global still image architectural visualization competition in celebration of the Autodesk ® 3ds Max® 20th Anniversary and advancements in GPU-accelerated rendering solutions.Participants must create an architectural scene that incorporates the 3ds Max 20th anniversary logo in a recognizable (and creative) form and produce a still image of that scene. Content can be created with any application, but final rendering must be done in 3ds Max 2011 or 3ds Max Design 2011 software using native GPU rendering solutions – Quicksilver or iray® or any GPU-accelerated third-party rendering solution. Participants who do not own 3ds Max or 3ds Max Design 2011 software can download the 30-day trial to use the Quicksilver hardware renderer. iray will be available to Autodesk Subscription customers on September 29, 2010 as part of the Advantage Pack for 3ds Max 2011 and 3ds Max Design 2011. Students can download 3ds Max Design 2011 from the Autodesk Education Community.

Contestants can upload their entries directly to the CGarchitect submissions page starting October 1, 2010. The contest will close on October 31, 2010, and entries will be judged on the basis of artistic merit and originality by a panel of industry judges.
