Encounters Film Festival 2023

Each September, Encounters Film Festival stages one of the world’s leading international competitions for short films. Connecting industry and audiences, Encounters celebrates the creativity, diversity, and the impact of short form moving image. The festival is a springboard for audiences to encounter rising talent and for artists to progress, exchange knowledge, inform and learn within the evolving global ecology.

The International Competition is an official gateway to the world’s most prestigious awards: The Academy Awards, BAFTAs, and the European Film Awards. Panels, workshops, and masterclasses with key industry figures compliment the artistic program and shed light on key issues shaping the evolving moving image industries.
