Animation for adult audiences is suddenly a hot trend, affecting the content of films, TV and, of course, the Web. For those of us with a low cuteness threshold, this can only come as welcome relief. If you've ever had an idea for something other than the 6-to-11-year-old demographic, join the conversation on Wednesday, October 22 for WIA/L.A.'s next General Meeting: "Animation Of, By and For Adults."
A panel of creators and executives will discuss the opportunities and pitfalls of programming for the grown-up market. These include:
Patric Verrone -- President, WGA West Yvette Kaplan -- Director, BEEVIS & BUTTHEAD Ollie Green -- Line Producer, SUPERJAIL Adam Kosloff -- Staff Writer, SPACEBALLS: THE ANIMATED SERIES
Join WIA at the Dreamworks campus (1000 Flower Street, Glendale, California) on Wednesday, October 22, 2008. Schmoozing and networking begins at 6:30 p.m., and the meeting proper starts at 7:00. Finger food and soft drinks should be available. RSVP early to lachapterrsvps@aol.com; for security reasons the RSVP list will close on Sunday, October 19.
Non-members are asked for a $10 donation; members (and DreamWorks employees) are free.
