Spike TV & Artemis Records Team on Video Game Awards CD

Spike TV and Artemis Records has announced VIDEO GAME AWARDS HITS VOLUME 1 - BEST OF VIDEO GAME MUSIC. The new compilation CD, which is Spike TV's first ever commercial music deal, contains the music taken from today's hottest videogames. The CD, with music ranging from hip-hop to hard rock, will be released on Nov. 30, 2004, just two weeks in advance of Spike TV's VIDEO GAME AWARDS 2004 on Dec. 14 at 9:00 pm.

Kellogg's Blasts Incredible Snacks

Kellogg's, Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios have joined forces to bring THE INCREDIBLES to breakfast tables. Kellogg Co. has released a variety of limited edition Kellogg's products inspired by the film. including cereal, Pop-Tarts toaster pastries and fruit snacks.

ShoPro Names Bandai America Master Licensee For Zatch Bell!

ShoPro Ent. has signed a comprehensive licensing deal with Bandai America for a line of ZATCH BELL! video and trading card games that will be sold throughout the mass market. The news follows the recent announcement that ZATCH BELL!, an action adventure series aimed at boys 8-14, will make its television debut on Cartoon Network in spring 2005. The videogames will be available on all major platforms: PS, PS2, X-Box, GameCube, and Gameboy Advance.

Scholastic will be the exclusive U.S. publisher of TV tie-in books based on four new original series on Cartoon Network. Scholastic plans to publish books, beginning in fall 2005, targeted at young readers 4-11.

Tractor Tom Plows Up Down Under Deals

Contender Entertainment Group (CEG) has secured both broadcast and master toy deals in Australia for its animated childrens classic, TRACTOR TOM.

The complete 52x11 series is scheduled to begin on Seven Network in the kids programming stream starting Nov. 6, 2004, with shows continuing into the new year, 2005.

Jetix Europes consumer products division, JCP, announced that it has appointed Hasbro as the master toy licensee for its latest animated urban action series with a working title of THE INSIDERS. The first consumer products and the toy line will be launched in autumn 2005, with more extensive lines to follow in 2006.

Diamond Comics & Bandai Partner on Toys

Diamond Comic Distributors has announced the formation of a strategic partnership with Bandai Co. Ltd. for the importation of Bandai's Japanese toys and models for sales to specialty stores in the U.S. As it has done with other, smaller Japanese toy companies, Diamond will offer Bandai's products, in their Japanese packaging, to comic shops at prices comparable to prices consumers pay for American collector toys.

AOL's RED Service Promotes How to Draw Manga

With the help of publisher Graphic-Sha, Diamond Comics has launched a deal with America Onlines RED teen service area to promote the bestselling HOW TO DRAW MANGA series. Through its Comics &Anime Screen, RED will spotlight a different HOW TO DRAW MANGA book each week, showing sample pages and inviting subscribers to submit their work based on the sample guides.

VIZ Teams With Borders On Inuyasha Promotions

VIZ, LLC has teamed with Borders Group Inc., (BGI), the parent company of Borders and Waldenbooks, to co-promote the INUYASHA DVD and manga titles. The offerings will include the new feature film, INUYASHA: AFFECTIONS TOUCHING ACROSS TIME, the INUYASHA First Season DVD box set and a special Graphic Novel box set, which includes Vol. 19 and a limited edition INUYASHA figurine.

Tiny Wonderlens Studios Lands Big Taco Bell Toy Deal

Wonderlens Studios, a small, independent animation house in Southern California, has landed a mucho big toy deal with Taco Bell Corp. -- 2.85 million toys, all based on characters created by Wonderlens, featured on its independently released DVD, WONDERLENS PRESENTS: AQUARIUM OF THE ALIENS. Participating Taco Bell locations throughout the U.S. will be distributing six different Wonderlens toys as part of a kids meal promo over a period of roughly six weeks, which started Sept. 1, 2004.

DreamWorks & Anime Network Team On Ghost In The Shell 2 Promotion

Go Fish Pictures, a subsidiary of DreamWorks Pictures, has selected Anime Network as the platform for its fall television advertising campaign for the highly-anticipated animated film GHOST IN THE SHELL 2: INNOCENCE. The studio's ad commitment encompasses Anime Network's 24-hour cable channel as well as the network's video-on-demand (VOD) service and will include the airing of the full 75-second trailer for the film.

Madagascar Trading Card Licenses Goes to Comic Images

DreamWorks has awarded the trading card license for its forthcoming CG feature, MADAGASCAR, to Comic Images. The film follows a giraffe (David Schwimmer), a zebra (Chris Rock) and a hippo (Jada Pinkett-Smith) from New York's Central Park Zoo, who, in the process of being returned to the wild, are shipwrecked on the island of Madagascar. The film is set for release on May 27, 2005 with Comic Images planning to ship the trading cards a few weeks before the debut. Comic Images previously handled the SHREK 2 trading card series for DreamWorks.

Disney Releases Three Musketeers' Soundtrack

Walt Disney Records will release the soundtrack for the upcoming direct-to-video release, MICKEY -- DONALD -- GOOFY: THE THREE MUSKETEERS soundtrack on Aug. 10, 2004. The film premieres on DVD and video, Aug. 17. The soundtrack includes seven comedic spins on classical favorites by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and others and features the brand-new Radio Disney and Disney Channel hit THREE IS A MAGIC NUMBER by teen singing stars Stevie Brock, Greg Raposo and Matthew Ballinger. The CD will sell for $6.98.

Davey and Goliath Get the Word from Scholastic

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and Scholastic have agreed to bring DAVEY AND GOLIATH to a new generation of children in the first major publishing deal for the religious, animated property.

DAVEY AND GOLIATH is a classic stop-motion animated television series that aired in the late 1960s and 1970s, starring Davey Hansen and his talking dog, Goliath, and is a property of the ELCA.
