5th Annual Streamy Awards Nominees Announced

SANTA MONICA, CA -- Nominees for the 5th Annual Streamy Awards have been announced. A multi-platform event honoring the best in online video, The Streamy Awards, will air live on VH1 and its digital platforms from the Hollywood Palladium on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 10:00 pm ET/delayed PT.

Nominees in the Animated Series category include Frederator’s Bee and Puppycat, PBS digital studios series Blank on Blank, webcomic Cyanide & Happiness by Rob DenBleyker, Kris Wilson and Dave McElfatrick, Rooster Teeth’s RWBY, and YouTube animator sWooZie.

In the Visual and Special Effects category, nominees are Action Movie Kid by Daniel Hashimoto, Andrew M Films and Andrew McMurry; Corridor Digital by Sam Gorski, Niko Pueringer and Jake Watson; SnapperHero by Sam Gorski, Niko Pueringer and Jake Watson; and Zach King by Zach King.

Continuing to reflect the current state of original programming native to online and social video, the 5th Annual Streamy Awards feature new and updated awards, including:

• New subject awards for Lifestyle channels and Documentary or Investigative series.
• Breakout Creator and Breakthrough Artist awards recognizing up-and-coming digital creators and music artists who have not previously been nominated.
• Introduction of the Social Video category to include Instagram, Snapchat, and Vine.

Winners of the Streamy Awards will be determined by the Streamys Blue Ribbon Panel, a judging body of creators, executives, and other experts in the online video industry.
