Animation Block Announces ABP 2014 Lineup

This summer’s edition of ABP includes a free outdoor show on Opening Night, special programs from Animation Breakdown Roundup and Titmouse 5 Second Day, and a 35mm screening of the classic film ‘Space Jam.’

The official lineup for the eleventh annual Animation Block Party film festival has been announced. Animation Block Party is the premier animation festival of the East Coast, dedicated to exhibiting all genres of the world's best independent, professional and student animation.

This summer’s edition of ABP includes a free outdoor show on Opening Night at Arts Brookfield, special programs from Animation Breakdown Roundup and Titmouse 5 Second Day -- plus a 35mm screening of the classic film Space Jam at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

The ABP Saturday Night Party will feature carnival and arcade style games, ping pong, Sakura Art drawing station, streaming videos from Loopdeloop, deejay, live music, Brooklyn Brewery beer and more.

Animation Block Party opens on Thursday, July 24th at Rooftop Films. Doors at 6:30pm. Live Music at 7:45 pm. Films begin at 8:45pm. Screening is free and open to the public. The program includes a diverse compilation of extraordinary animated shorts, including exclusive content from Nickelodeon Animation and (mtv)other.

ABP Friday at BAMcinématek features four different animation programs. Program 1 offers Experimental Films, Graphic Design and Music Videos. Program 2 includes Student Films & Independent Animators. Program 3 is a special showcase to be announced soon. Program 4 is the NYC premiere of Animation Breakdown Roundup, a collection of original and acquired shorts from the world's top animation talent.

ABP Saturday at BAMcinématek includes four different animation programs and one big late night party. Program 5 features a special Animation for Kids showcase. Program 6 provides a look at Farmer Alfalfa from Tom Stathes' Cartoons on Film. Program 7 includes an original blend of International Shorts. Program 8 highlights the Best of 5 Second Day from Titmouse Animation.

ABP Sunday at BAMcinématek includes four different animation programs. Program 9 is Space Jam with Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny. Program 10 features the John Hubley Centennial. Program 11 includes Narrative Works, Studio Shorts & Local Films. Program 12 is a fresh collection of International Shorts.
