Thor: The Dark World is Disney’s third movie to cross $500 million this year, following Iron Man 3 and Monsters University.
Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World has crossed the $500 million mark at the global box office, according to a report by The Wrap.
The 3D superhero sequel has been the number one film worldwide since opening three weeks ago. It has brought in $152 million domestically, where it’s been number one for the past two weeks, and $352 million overseas for a $504 million global total.
It’s the studio’s third release and second Marvel Studios film to do so this year, following Iron Man 3 ($1.2 billion) and Pixar’s Monsters University ($743 million).
Thor: The Dark World has already passed the global box-office totals of Captain America ($371 million) and Thor ($449 million).
