INCEPTION beauty Marion Cotillard is in talks to join the cast of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, according to The Hollywood Reporter. While no details have been announced, it seems she would take the role of Talia al Ghul, the daughter of Batman villain/mentor Ra's al Ghul, who was played by Liam Neeson in BATMAN BEGINS. The role is viewed as the romantic lead in the film. Director Christopher Nolan has met with Kate Winslet, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts for the role as well.
The cast of the threequel is filling out. Christian Bale will return as Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, and Michael Caine returns as Alfred. It was previously announced that Anne Hathaway would play Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, and Tom Hardy takes the role of Bane. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks to join the cast as well. It is rumored that his role is that of Alberto Falcone, the son of crime boss Carmine Falcone, who has played by Tom Wilkinson in BATMAN BEGINS.
Production is set to start in London in mid-June then move to Los Angeles and Pittsburgh, finishing up in New York in mid-November.
