Paris (France) — Cube Creative Productions announces that its first animated series, Kaeloo, directed by Rémi Chapotot, will be aired both on Cartoon+, a Canal+ Family program, from 6 June 2010, and unencrypted on Canal+ in the slot left vacant by Canal Football Club during the summer.

Four "screwball buddies"Kaeloo is a series of 52 x 7’ featuring four "buddies": Kaeloo herself, a well-meaning frog, Stumpy, a squirrel with Tourette-like tics, Quack-Quack, a former lab-duck pieced back together and, incidentally, the punch-bag of the sinister and incorrigibly pretentious Mister Cat, who takes a sadistic pleasure in spoiling the games played by the other three. But fun soon turns to violence, especially when Kaeloo, rightly angered by Mr. Cat's constant bullying of Quack-Quack, turns in to Bad Kaeloo, a cross between Godzilla and the Incredible Hulk. Every time, Mr. Cat finally gets the message… and his comeuppance!

Kaeloo is a series with mordant humor and breathtaking visual gags, superbly backed by crisp dialog that will make young and old laugh thanks to the masterful script direction by Jean-Francois Henry and the directing of Rémi Chapotot.

An unconventional directorCube Creative Productions has made it a specialty to welcome young directors from the most prestigious French animation schools.

As Lionel Fages, one of Cube's co-founders, explains, "We appreciate their freshness, their spontaneity and desire to go even further in the stories they want to tell." Rémi Chapotot is one of these. After studying at Les Beaux-Arts de Nancy, in 2004 he gained entry into SUPINFOCOM Arles in the upper cycle in infography. Two years later, he graduated with "digital director" diploma with the added mention "very good".

His graduation film, called "Making OF", opened doors to several animation studios but he chose Cube Creative Productions with whom he already had a professional relationship. While directing several TV commercials, he began working on a pilot for Kaeloo, in 3D. Its web broadcast in 2007 caused a real buzz among web users.

Kaeloo on Canal+ and at Annecy in JuneCanal+ was immediately won over by the series' narrative and visual quality. "The pace, the tone and the images make Kaeloo a series we can truly envisage featuring in our program scheduling," explained François Deplanck of Canal+.

The series will go out on Canal Family from 6 June 2010 – a date not left to chance since Cube Creative Productions will also be present at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival (FIFA) which runs from 6 thru 12 June 2010. FIFA and its market (MIFA) are attended by all the animation pros from across the globe; creators, producers, distributors and broadcasters meet every year to discover new ongoing projects and productions.

Cube Creative Productions and director Rémi Chapotot will be present throughout the festival to present the studio's latest productions, including Kaeloo. For the occasion, one episode will be made entirely in 3D, just like the original pilot.

"With Kaeloo, CUBE proves once again its ability to make innovative programs that combine the best of writing with top-quality animation," sums up Lionel Fages.

* Cube Creative Productions will be on the "Commission Ile de France" stand. Lionel Fages and the studio teams will be available and delighted to welcome you.
